A Life’s Work

International Society of Typographic Designers Award

book design / april 2016

Set by the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD), the brief was to produce a publication that celebrates the life’s work of typographer, Adrian Frutiger. The main concept of the book was to display all of Frutiger’s typefaces in a way that would visually show off their characteristics, whilst informing the reader on how/when they were designed. I designed the book to essentially be a timeline, starting from the first typeface released, to the last. The layout followed a grid that was designed to move the columns of text across the pages as time went on. The book was awarded a Pass from the ISTD in the student assessment award in 2016.
